At Living Hope

Serving on a church ministry team is an exciting ways of building a community of gospel-centered people. To learn more about serving opportunities at our church, please see the list of church ministry teams below and feel free to contact us if you have any questions. 

 

Children's Ministry (Membership Required)
Purpose: To provide a safe, secure, orderly, and fun environment for the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of our children as they hear Gospel-centered teachings.
Looking For: Members to serve in the children's classrooms, on the Security Team, or on one of our four Creative Teams that lead the older classes' assembly times.
Typical Serving Schedule: Members serve once per month from 9:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., plus one fifth week Sunday per year. Parent participation required if you have children being served in Children's Ministry. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Communications
Purpose: To communicate through print, graphics, photography, videography, and website information about church life, ministries, and events with a view to reinforce our church's message and mission of building a gospel-centered community.
Looking For: Individuals with experience and creative skills in some or all categories.
Typical Serving Schedule: Various days of the week and times depending on projects, events, and church calendar.

Facility Setup and Take-Down
Purpose: To prepare the building for Sunday meetings and restore it to appropriate conditions afterwards.
Looking For: Capable men, women, and teens eager to serve the church and care for the facility. Lifting required for some tasks. Lighter duties may be available.
Typical Serving Schedule: Two Sundays per month from 8:15 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. before the service, and then 11:35 – 12:30 afterwards. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Greeting, Ushering, and Communion
Purpose: To provide God-glorifying service in the form of greeting, ushering, taking the offering, distributing bread and juice during communion Sundays, and church information and other literature.
Looking For: Individuals who are joyful, caring, and outward-focused who can help create an atmosphere of grace while serving.
Typical Serving Schedule: Two Sundays per month starting at 9:15 a.m. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Guest Follow-Up (Membership Required)
Purpose: To follow up with Sunday morning guests and seek opportunities to serve, pray for, and answer questions.
Looking For: Joyful members who like to talk with visitors, pray for them, and answer questions about our church. Must be able to communicate well in person and over the phone.
Typical Serving Schedule: Each team member serves one Sunday per month making phone calls from their home. Telephone and online database training will be provided.

Guest Reception (Membership Required)
Purpose: To welcome and serve our guests in a warm and friendly atmosphere while actively seeking opportunities to serve them.
Looking For: Members who are encouraging, friendly, gracious, outwardly focused, and have good communication skills. Includes setting up and taking down coffee maker, snacks, and literature.
Typical Serving Schedule: Twice per month for approximately 30 minutes immediately following the Sunday service. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Hospitality and Events
Purpose: To coordinate and implement food for Sunday and other church events including morning classes, Sunday fellowship and picnics, and others as needed.
Looking For: Planners and those who organize, prepare, and present food in a welcoming manner.
Typical Serving Schedule: Team members serve as classes and events need.

Medical Response (Membership Required)
Purpose: To provide assistance to individuals requiring medical care at all church events.
Looking For: Individuals with health care/emergency response backgrounds.
Typical Serving Schedule: Rotating schedule Sunday mornings and assigned church events.

Offering Counting (Membership Required)
Purpose: To receive and accurately count offering monies collected during Sunday church meetings.
Looking For: Members must be of established character and responsibility, with demonstrated skills in counting and tabulating money.
Typical Serving Schedule: Two Sundays per month for approximately thirty minutes after the conclusion of the service. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Projection Team
Purpose: To operate laptop and software to project worship, announcements, and sermon notes during the Sunday service. May also include occasional video.
Looking For: Individuals who are proficient with basic projection software and attentive to the worship and teaching flow.
Typical Serving Schedule: Once each month starting at 9:15 a.m., and as needed. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Security (Membership Required)
Purpose: To provide security for our members, guests, and children.
Looking For: Individuals with police or security experience or anyone who is able to graciously enforce church security policies.
Typical Serving Schedule: Rotating schedule Sunday mornings and assigned church events.

Sound Technicians
Purpose: To electrically capture, amplify, and broadcast the proclamation of the Gospel so that the whole church community can see and hear God's word clearly.
Looking For: Individuals with music, IT, or audio/video experience to setup and take down audio/video equipment and participate in live production during the Sunday service.
Typical Serving Schedule: Two consecutive Sundays per month from 8:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. before the service, and then 11:35 – 12:30 afterwards. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Storage Trailer
Purpose: To bring the trailer container for Sunday service, worship, Children's Ministry, and other resources, and then return it to the storage facility afterwards.
Looking For: Individuals who can pull the trailer with Sunday church supplies and equipment to church and return to storage center, and/or provide truck which can pull a 10,000 pound trailer. Round trip is approximately six miles on local, low-traffic roads.
Typical Serving Schedule: Once or twice per month. Arrives at the storage facility where trailer is parked at approximately 7:45 a.m., hooks up, completes walk-around, and then arrives at the church by 8:15 a.m. Trailer is returned after the service at approximately 12:30 p.m. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.

Worship Team (Membership Required)
Purpose: To glorify Christ and serve His people by providing praise and worship music Sunday mornings.
Looking For: Members who enjoy expressive worship in song and have appropriate musical gifts. An audition is required.
Typical Serving Schedule: Twice per month and are required to attend scheduled practices. Other schedule rotations may be available upon request.
